MID-AUTUMN 2022
The Mid-Autumn Festival, as it is known in Vietnam, is an ancient, wonderful festival that revolves around children. The Mid-Autumn Festival dates from 15-20,000 years ago in Southeast Asia, traditionally celebrated on the 15th day of the 8th lunar month.
The Mid-Autumn Festival is one of the two most popular festivals in Vietnam, and has been of great significance to families in Vietnam for generations. It is said that at first, the Mid-Autumn Festival was a way for parents to make up for lost time with their children after the harvest season. Parents can't wait to spend time with their children and do something special with them, as well as celebrate the harvest, after hard work and time away from home.
It is celebrated under the full moon, symbolizing the abundance and prosperity of life. Children parade through the streets, singing and carrying colorful lanterns of various sizes. Some popular shapes include fish, stars, butterflies, and a lantern that spins when a candle is plugged in, symbolizing the earth orbiting the sun. The custom of giving moon cakes, traditional mooncake boxes are very rich in flavor: lotus seed, green beans ....
Today, the Mid-Autumn Festival, as well as encouraging affection for children, promotes education, poetry, dance and arts and crafts. To help children prepare for the Mid-Autumn Festival, parents can help children make their own lanterns and costumes for the procession and discuss the history and culture of Vietnam. On the occasion of Mid-Autumn Festival 2022, Alpha Plus Company held events at 3 projects. In addition to the main performances such as meeting Uncle Cuoi, Sister Hang, Lantern making contest, singing contest, lion dance...
